GPU Reservations

Training Coordinators can secure guaranteed GPU resources for their courses through the GPU reservation feature. These reservations take priority over standard GPU compute requests, ensuring that the necessary hardware is available to support smooth training sessions and lab environments.

The following steps outline how to establish a GPU reservation for a course:

Navigate to the 'Desktops' tab on the course page and select the blue 'Reserve GPU' button located beneath the 'Video conference' button.

A dialog box will appear to gather the necessary details for your GPU request.

Start by selecting the location. The default option is 'Anywhere'.

If you know the nearest city to your participants, you can specify it manually by choosing 'Within distance from city'.

For broader location coverage, you can select 'Others...'.

Once you are satisfied with the selected location, click 'Continue' to proceed to the 'Per desktop' section, where you can define the machine requirements.

In this section, specify all the resources required for each machine. This helps provide an accurate estimate of the approximate resource costs.

** Please ensure accuracy here, as it contributes to a more precise cost estimation and assists course managers in locating resources if specific regions are depleted.

If the entered details are correct, click 'Continue' to move on to the GPU requirements section.

In this part, it is advisable to consult with the trainer to determine exactly what is needed for the course. Trainers typically know the specific GPU vendor and model required for their sessions. If you or the trainer are unsure, please select 'ANY'.

Currently, we offer two vendors: AMD and Nvidia.

Regarding models, we list our current catalog of available options. If you are uncertain about the trainer’s needs, select 'ANY'.

When you are ready to finalize the reservation, click 'Place reservation'. This will allocate the funds, activate the reservation, and reflect its status on the course page, as shown below:

If new information regarding GPU requirements emerges and changes to your reservation are necessary, please contact DD support for assistance in editing the GPU reservation request.
